Donald Trump while campaigning has loudly proclaimed his support for two very progressive ideas, that vary sharply from mainstream Republicanism. Replacing the Affordable Care Act with something better. Campaign finance reform.
I think progressives should goad him to keep to these promises. Republicans will try to bind him like the Lilliputians bound Gulliver, tying him down with stakes and ropes.
But if Donald will give campaign style rallies in support of these two heretical progressive ideas, and use the bully pulpit in his barbarian flamboyant style, he might split his party for the midterms.
I hope I am right in thinking that Donald does not give a flying f**k for the party. I hope he wants to go down in history as Good King Donald, who changed the political landscape in a good direction.
However, the great risk would be that if he does not play ball, the party will happily impeach him and replace him with that silver haired silver tongued villain Mike Pence, who I think is far more dangerous to progressives than DJT.
